Nora Parella Announces Candidacy for Placer County Board of Education
Hello, Placer County! I am thrilled to officially announce my candidacy for the Placer County Board of Education in Trustee Area 1.
My husband and I moved to Roseville for one key reason: the exceptional reputation of our local schools. Since then, we've built a life here, welcomed our son into the community, and become deeply invested in the future of our community. When a school board member asked if I would consider running for this seat, I said yes without hesitation as a chance to give back.
I am running because I believe every child in Placer County deserves schools that work for them, and I want to preserve the greatness of our local public education. For more than a decade, I have been a leader in California education policy, currently serving as a Policy Administrator at the California Department of Education. Day to day, my job is to turn education laws into working programs, manage student data reporting, and advocate for students with disabilities across the state. I know firsthand how the decisions made closest to students dictate whether they get the resources they deserve.
When I’m elected, I promise to bring seasoned policy expertise and a steady, collaborative approach to the Board.
I fundamentally believe that when we properly support students who face real challenges, all of our students succeed. These young people grow into the adults who live and work alongside us, and it is our responsibility to prepare them to be active, self-sufficient, and engaged citizens.
I would be honored to have your support and your vote on November 3rd.
