Recap: Nora’s Campaign Kickoff in Roseville

We officially kicked off the campaign for Placer County Board of Education with an incredible evening in Roseville surrounded by friends, family, community leaders, and supporters. Thank you to everyone who came out to be part of it!

On Tuesday night, we officially kicked off our campaign for Placer County Board of Education, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to get started.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Garden of Eat’n in Roseville. It meant so much to look around the room and see friends and family, neighbors, educators, local leaders, and so many people who care deeply about our community and its schools.

A special thank you to Kayla Scott for the incredibly kind introduction, and to Ash and the team at Garden of Eat’n for hosting us. I was also grateful to have so many community leaders join us, including Vice Mayor Karen Alvord, RJUHSD Trustee Bill Shuetz, Planning Commission Chair Kim Unidad, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Sandra Pollack-Cushing, and several fellow candidates for local office.

The evening gave me the chance to share a little more about why I’m running and the work I hope to do on the County Board. For more than a decade, I’ve dedicated my career to public service and advocating for students with disabilities across California. I’m excited about the opportunity to bring that experience and commitment home to Placer County.

We talked about the important role the County Board plays in supporting students and families throughout our region. I also shared my priorities around collaboration, accountability, protecting educational excellence, and making sure the students who rely directly on County Office programs have a strong advocate.

But more than anything, I shared the reason behind this campaign: I believe in education, and I believe in Placer kids. When we get it right for the students with the greatest needs, we get it right for everybody.

Thank you again to everyone who came, volunteered, encouraged me, and helped make the night so special. It was an incredible launch, and we’re just getting started!
