Welcome Back to School, Roseville
Today is the first day of school for students in both the Roseville City School District and the Roseville Joint Union High School District.
Backpacks are packed, schedules are printed, and somewhere in this city a parent is taking a picture on the front porch and pretending not to tear up.
To every student walking onto a campus this morning — welcome back! And to the teachers, paraeducators, bus drivers, custodians, front office managers, food service staff, and site administrators who spent the last several weeks getting those campuses ready — thank you. A school year only starts because hundreds of people in this community decide our kids are worth the effort.
What I'll be doing this fall
Between now and November 3, I'll be out in the community at campuses, back-to-school events, kitchen tables, and anywhere else families are willing to have me. I want to hear what is working in our schools and what isn't.
